The DIT-2 is Panoram’s second-generation digital imaging table. This powerful visualization system now features the “4K” (4096h X 2160v) format at over 8.5 million pixels in resolution, in a simpler, more reliable and lower cost design. The print quality image provided by this “touch computing” light table is designed for the most critical imaging applications such as image analysis for intelligence, GIS mapping, command and control, medical & scientific visualization, archeological study, urban planning and more.
The DIT-2 can be driven by readily available workstation class computers running 32- or 64-bit MS Windows® or Linux. This means all the software applications you are currently using are easily ported to the DIT-2 running at incredibly high resolutions.
We have been spreading our maps, charts, drawings, plans, images and designs across tables for as long as they have existed. It is a natural and well understood collaborative environment. Around a table, you face one another and the information at the same time. The DIT-2 brings this natural workflow into the digital age with a crystal clear image of such an unprecedented resolution that it rivals paper with over 3,000 pixels per square inch. Because the information is in digital form, it can be updated and manipulated electronically in real-time. It can be layered, marked up, composited, analyzed, explored, re-distributed and, if desired, it can even be printed back onto paper. It is simple, natural, and quite amazing to work on the DIT-2.

The base DIT-2 model accommodates a single full-resolution Primary workstation. This workstation is typically a dual core, dual-processor machine with two high-end commercial graphics cards driving the 4 DVI inputs of the full resolution display channel. This results in a 4K computer desktop that is 4096 X 2160 pixels onto which to lay-out your work.

Additionally, there are three lower-resolution Auxiliary sources that can be selected with convenient push buttons. These typically accommodate standard PCs and notebooks. The Auxiliary sources are internally scaled onto the table at their native aspect ratio. The combination of the advanced Primary workstation and off-the-shelf Auxiliary sources provides all the flexibility most users need.

SOPHISTICATED DESIGN FOR FUNCTIONALITY AND RELIABILITY

The incomparable Sony “Silicon X-tal Reflective Display” or SXRD - 4K (4096h X 2160v) projector delivers 500% higher resolution than a high-end SXGA+ (1400h X 1050v) data projector. The SXRD is located behind the table and is typically enclosed in a separate room or pocket. An optical glass port is used to seal between the two spaces. An exhaust system is used to vent the 5,000 ANSI lumen projector directly out of the building or into an HVAC register. An optical grade mirror is used to fold the light path up onto the advanced high contrast glass screen. This commercial-grade design is exceptionally reliable. With single-projector technology delivering the unprecedented resolution, there is no multi-projector array to keep aligned or color balanced. Additionally, two lamp housings in the projector provide lamp redundancy for uninterrupted operation in mission critical applications.

ERGONOMIC AND DESIGN FEATURES

  • Complete mechanical isolation of the screen and optical system eliminates shock transfer to the image when working at the table surface.

  • Manual button controls for source selection, table functions and with the Commander option, Snapshot recalls makes using the table simple and instinctive.
  • Panoram’s optional infrared touch computing interface provides mouse functionality with a finger.

  • Integral flip up side trays for graphic tablet, keyboard and mouse offer work surfaces for more traditional interfaces.

  • Integral USB hubs on both sides support peripherals

Infrared touch computing
  • An internal pre-wired power supply means easy hook up for charging the Tablet Control PC

  • The 6 DOF projector alignment base and full access to the projector makes set-up and maintenance simple and easy.

  • The stunning looking, high contrast custom StarGlass™ 60 screen has been augmented with anti-reflectance coating to help eliminate room reflections.

  • Locking utility drawers provide storage for the Table PC, cleaning equipment and other peripherals
