Joint Technology Demonstration produced by Force Protection
and Panoram
Virtual Windows Increase Protection provided by Armored
Vehicles
Charleston, SC: March 2, 2004 -Force Protection, Inc. (OTCBB:FRCP)
and Panoram Technology, Inc. announced that they have jointly
structured a "Virtual Integrated Electronic Window"
(VIEW) Technology Demonstration. The Virtual Integrated Electronic
Windows allow the protection level provided by an armored
vehicle to be increased without a weight penalty. Troops in
Armored vehicles need situational awareness prior to the moment
of egress. As a result, windows are highly desirable. However,
bulletproof glass is a good deal heavier than armor and adds
to the weight of the vehicle. This weight penalty can be avoided
through the use of electronics.

This Technology Demonstration consists of the installation
of Panoram's advanced electronic system into one of Force
Protection/TSG's "Cougar" Armored and Mine Protected
Vehicles. The system includes state-of-the-art video cameras,
large wraparound displays, and Panoram's proprietary Large
Scale Visualization technology.
The
system's capabilities go well beyond replication of the usefulness
of ordinary vehicle windows. A suite of cameras allows the
user of each window to select the optimal type of camera for
any given set of conditions. Daylight operations will usually
utilize the color cameras with zoom capability, which allow
closer inspection of specific threats than is possible with
the naked eye or handheld optics. Nighttime operators will
normally select either low light level or thermal imaging
cameras. All at the flip of a switch.
Panoram's Large Scale
Visualization technology allows the images from multiple
cameras to be "stitched together" - or integrated
- into a nearly seamless wraparound display that enhances
visual acuity. In Remotely Piloted Vehicles and other Command
and Control Applications, this technology provides peripheral
vision and enhanced controllability.
Qualified Customers can experience the Technology Demonstration
(by appointment) at Force Protection, Inc.'s facility in Ladson,
South Carolina (near Charleston). Interested parties should
contact Jeff Lesonsky at Force Protection, Inc. at 843-740-7015,
ext 234.
TSG's President, Garth Barrett, stated, "All the weight
we save by getting rid of glass can be used to beef up the
armor. Utilizing this, and certain other technologies, we
are now reaching some outstanding and unusually high protection
levels in light wheeled armored vehicles."
Force Protection's TSG subsidiary produces advanced Armored
and Mine Protected Vehicles that feature multiple mission
configurations and specially designed field reparability.
The designs mate monocoque capsule protection with the latest
in American automotive technology to produce a vehicle with
superior blast protection, visibility, load carrying capacity,
interior space and parts availability.
One of TSG's vehicles was recently featured by Geraldo Rivera
on Fox News. A DVD of this segment can be obtained from Investor
