Panoram Technologies Initiates Plan To Expand Federal
Visualization Solutions
Proven Success Models, Perfect for Federal Training, Information
Management, Command and Control and Deployment Applications
Sun Valley, CA-Panoram Technologies, Inc. recently announced
the appointment of Cal Leuning as Director of Government Solutions,
reports Theo Mayer, President/CEO of the California-based
company recognized as a world leader in advanced display systems.
"Cal joins us from Federal Data Corporation with a background
tailor-made for his new challenge at Panoram," Mayer
said. "A tremendous need for systems technologies supported
by a full service organization like Panoram is a huge part
of federal applications. Our experience in deploying and supporting
these advanced computer information technologies in domestic
as well as difficult international environments-both fixed
and mobile based-is quite exciting to various government agencies,"
Mayer continued, "and Cal's specific government background
and experience in servicing and supporting these agencies
is a perfect match for the mission at hand."
Leuning has at his disposal whole new set of command and
control tools to supply federal needs, including a full range
of computing platforms and display formats. Some of these
include, desktop, rack mount, field deployable units, smaller
briefing systems and conference systems, video walls and multi-projector
seamlessly tiled ultra bright projection for large scale facility
systems. Panoram even provides a unique 360° imaging technology
for critical security monitoring.
The seasoned Panoram team supports Cal's efforts with broad
engineering experience and specialty knowledge necessary to
the integration and deployment of large and small scale visualization
systems. Large scale fixed base facilities are currently being
deployed at the rate of 3-5 per month. Supporting this effort
are Panoram's newly developed desktop and workgroup systems.
Panoram desktop displays are compatible with all major computing
operating systems. For facility displays and workgroup displays,
Panoram compliant operating systems include Apple Macintosh
OS 8/9/X, HP-UX, SGI Irix, SUN Solaris 2.8, Windows 98/NT/ME/2000.
"Panoram not only has a comprehensive product line of
visualization solutions, but also has built the infrastructure
to supply these advanced display technologies worldwide. This
includes maintenance, technical support and user training,"
Mayer said, citing examples of the company's presence in the
Middle East (Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan and Saudi
Arabia with developing projects in Israel and Turkey)-South
America (Multiple systems in Brazil, Venezuela and Columbia)-SE
Asia (Australia and Indonesian Sumatera)-Asia (Japan and South
Korea)-Europe, Canada and the USA.
In order to support the company's activities in EMEA (Europe,
Middle East, Africa), Panoram established its European Operation
Center in September 1999. The marketing and technical support
branch is located southwest of London in Berkshire, UK.
"Our activities in these regions immediately increased
and are expanding rapidly," Mayer said. "Henry van
der Helm heads the EMEA operation for us and has found himself
extremely busy. We expect similar dramatic increases for Panoram
visualization solutions in the federal sector, now that we
have committed specific staff and resources to expand our
activities there."
Panoram's federal solutions are already being utilized by
Federal Government agencies and vendors who have either purchased
or are testing Panoram advanced displays-including the FAA's
Volpe Lab, Logicon, Boeing, NASA-JPL, NASA Dryden (Commands)
and NIDL (National Information Display Lab).
At I/ITSEC 2000 in Orlando, FL, November 27-30, in Booth
920, Panoram Technologies is showing and demonstrating some
of the solutions targeted toward Military/Defense programs,
including large scale, desktop, field, rack mounted, and video
wall displays, as well as the company's FullView 360°
imaging system.
"We are looking forward to a very positive response
at I/ITSEC. We feel confident that we have the right products
and organization to meet federal deployment needs for visualization
solutions," Mayer concluded.
