Panoram Introduces Line of High Visual Bandwidth Desktop
Computer Displays for a Broadband World
A series of extreme-resolution, integrated, multi-panel displays
expands visual gateway for personal productivity and professional
production applications.
Anaheim, CA (June 15, 2000) Recent information technology
advances have fundamentally altered the way we create, process,
store and deliver data. What has been lacking is an advance
of similar magnitude in the way we view and interact with
that data. The limitations of existing computer display interface
technology have restricted our ability to fully unlock the
potential of the personal computing environment.
When Panoram Technologies, the world's leading developer
of advanced immersive computer display systems for industrial
and government applications, announced the release of the
Panoram PV290 DSK 43.5" by 11.5", 3.9 megapixel
native resolution desktop display last year, that all changed.
At this year's INFOCOMM exhibition, Panoram announces the
release of several new additions to its line of advanced technology
desktop display systems.
Panoram desktop visualization systems feature three integrated,
flat-screen LCD TFT active matrix display panels. All are
compatible with most popular computer platforms, including
Apple Mac, HP, SGI, SUN and Windows/NT. Each system has been
engineered to provide maximum screen real estate, small footprint
and minimal separation between the images. The Panoram desktop
visualization systems expand computer users' visual gateway
to enhance the computing experience, unlock the potential
of software applications and dramatically increase personal
and collaborative productivity.
The newest addition to Panoram's desktop visualization line,
the Panoram PV230 DSK, delivers 2.4 megapixel native resolution
of screen real estate and accepts both computer and video
inputs. Its striking aluminum head with adjustable arm reflects
Panoram's passion for design elegance and user ergonomics.
The PV230 DSK can support most 2D and 3D software applications
including engineering, CAD, non-linear editing, electronic
publishing, Web development, computer program development,
medical analysis, and it is even a great solution for simple
productivity applications such as word processing, spreadsheet
analysis, financial monitoring and, let's not forget, high-end
computer gaming!
The three flat-screens can operate as a single integrated
display or as three independent displays running three different
applications simultaneously.
The PV230 DSK will be available for purchase in the fourth
quarter of this year and will carry a MSLP of $9,995.00, making
it the world's first immersive visualization system aimed
at the high-end consumer or the broader professional market.
For industrial and military applications, Panoram also has
developed a rack-mounted version of the Panoram PV290 DSK
called the Panoram PV290 FRM. The Panoram PV290 FRM provides
all of the features of the PV290 DSK including twelve selectable
inputs (six computer, three video and three S-video, as well
as three stereo audio), a USB port for external control, stereo
audio, microphone and a telecom camera input and a 12V utility
power supply for accessories such as teleconferencing cameras.
The PV290 FRM can be installed easily into a standard double-wide
rack. The PV290 FRM is the perfect visualization solution
for commercial or military aircraft, land and marine vessels,
research labs or as an embedded component to new OEM product
designs. The PV290 FRM will be available in the third quarter
of 2000 at a list price of $22,500.
Another member of Panoram's advanced technology desktop display
line, the Panoram PV290 MK1, delivers environmentally hardened,
extreme resolution visualization for field deployment applications.
The PV290 MK1 features a 43.5" by 11.5", 3.9 megapixel
native resolution display shock-mounted inside a tough, water-resistant
polyethylene resin stackable case. The PV290 MK1 has a feature-rich
design that provides twelve discrete inputs, including a Main
and Aux RGB-In, plus a composite video and S-Video for each
panel. This allows for a main multi-channel visualization
computer plus additional devices such as laptops, workstations
and even VCR, teleconference, cable or closed-circuit and
satellite feeds. The system can be set up in under 10 minutes
by a two-person crew with the screen's protective cover quickly
converting into an operator's seat. The Panoram PV290 MK1
is available for purchase now at a list price of $45,000.
